The Countess Conference | Resisting Ideology

Updated: Apr 29

Resisting Ideology Saturday 27th April 2024.

In light of the Cass review, four years in the making and in the wake of the resounding defeat of the government proposals in the referendum there has never been a better moment to understand, unite and resist gender ideology.

The Countess Conference: Exploring the impact of gender ideology on Irish society across legislation, policy, education, culture, and sport. This national event will bring together ordinary women and men from across Ireland for discussion, debate, and insights from activists, thought leaders, and experts across key subject areas. Join the fight for reality, for freedom of speech, for evidence-based healthcare, for the future of our society.

We have challenged the creep of gender identity into sport, prisons, education & legislation. Our work has changed the shape of the Irish political landscape. We have emboldened others. On April 27th, RDS Dublin, join us and a panel of national and international speakers to hear why must not take our foot off the accelerator. Our work has just begun. Be part of it.

The Basics: What is gender ideology? Where did it come from? How has it infiltrated our government and influenced our laws?

The Hate Crime Legislation and Freedom of Speech: How will the Hate Crime Bill affect our ability to speak freely about gender ideology and other issues?

Youth transition and detransition: Who is “the trans child”? How can parents support their child? What happens when someone decides to desist or detransition?

Children, Education, and Safeguarding: How does gender ideology impact what our children are being taught? What harms might this bring? How can we as parents assert our rights? Why are single-sex spaces important and how can we fight to retain them in schools and clubs?

Sport: Why is it important to protect female categories in sport? Why are boys and men allowed to join teams and take places of girls and women?

LGFA policy allows boys over the age of twelve to join girls’ teams – how can we fight back?

Prisons and Self-ID: Men are being placed in female prisons in this country if they simply fill out a form that says they are a woman. There are no safeguards. What impact does this have on women prisoners and prison officers?

Legislation: The words woman and mother are being excised from legislation and policy. How significant is the recent referendum result?

Lesbian Erasure: What is happening in lesbian spaces? How can LGB young people be protected and supported when all the organisations are promoting gender ideology?

Women’s Spaces and Words: How important is it for women to speak up against the takeover of our spaces and our words? How can ordinary women organise and empower each other to raise awareness?

To fight this insidious ideology we first need to understand it and we need to join the dots!
