WOMEN'S
SPORT.

From grassroots to elite levels, fairness and safety for women and girls in sport has been totally undermined by policies that allow males enter the female category.

The female category in sport exists because of the overwhelming nature of male physiological advantages. These advantages cannot be negated in any meaningful way by any current or conceivable treatments.

There are men now playing in Ladies Gaelic Football club teams, golf women’s tournaments, and taking part in international competitions against Irish women. Apps like ParkRun and Stava allow for self-selection into sex categories, meaning men are breaking women’s records on a weekly basis. This is an unacceptable breach of women and girls’ rights to fair, safe sport.

We know women are at risk from men in their sports, women have been injured and excluded, penalised for speaking up, robbed of medals and opportunities, all in the name of ‘inclusion’.

The Countess has produced a comprehensive position paper, which has been sent to all Irish sport national governing bodies, as well as to Sport Ireland. We are engaging with clubs and individuals and working with international groups to raise awareness and bring an end to these “inclusive” policies at all sporting levels.

Most people believe that sport should be separated by sex and not identity.
